One price, and the processing fees in the open.

You will find the fees out anyway. Better here than in a statement three months in.

7 days free

A full week of real teaching on the Full Book tier. We remind you on day five, and nothing is collected if you cancel before day seven.

Cancel in two taps

Settings, then cancel. No email, no retention call, and your export stays available afterwards.

Card up front

So the trial rolls into a subscription rather than freezing your diary mid-term. Nothing is charged until day seven.

Your money never passes through us

You are the merchant through Stripe. Collections land in your account, so Slate holds none of your income at any point.

What people ask before they pay.

Are the processing fees on top?

Yes, and they are not ours. Bacs Direct Debit is around 1% and capped, so a £46 lesson costs pence. Cards cost more. They are charged to your Stripe account directly — Slate does not add a margin.

What counts as a student?

A child you teach. Two siblings are two students and one payment. Parents are never counted, because parents never have accounts.

Why do you take a card before the trial?

So that the seventh day is not an admin task. You are reminded on day five, cancelling takes two taps, and nothing is collected if you cancel before the trial ends. It also means your students, rates and mandates carry straight on rather than being frozen mid-term.

Can I change tier mid-term?

Yes, either direction, prorated. Moving down keeps your data — features switch off, records do not disappear.

Your first lesson is scheduled in about five minutes.

Seven days free is one week of real teaching. Start with a Tuesday and see whether the money arrives on its own.
